One thing i’ve noticed over the years is that people will often tell me what my state is, like it were fact, as if i had no sensory organs.

They almost never ask me how it is, but instead say “i can see you are X”, without any evidence or much more than their own emotionally reactionary opinions that often get in the way of their own genuine understanding of the situation.

This is called projection.

When I’ve corrected them about their ideas on whatever the fuck is going on, these people usually get very upset and continue to try to force me to fit into their unfortunately narrow cognition.

This is a form of abuse, it is called gaslighting. Don’t do it.

If you fail to understand how inflicting your lack of understanding on others existence is abuse, imagine if anyone told you what you were hungry for every time you said that you wanted to eat something…

If you are doing this, stop doing it today.

If someone is doing this to you, give them a chance or two to take up the new information about the state you experience, but no more. If they continue to attempt to drive your state, they are actively manipulating you.

If this is happening to you, it is completely smart to walk away.
